About

Hi! I am a Research Scientist at Smule working on AI for music. I earned my M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego on the Machine Learning and Data Science track. My research sits at the intersection of music AI, controllable generation, audio signal processing, and machine learning. I am especially interested in bringing research systems into real music-production workflows, giving musicians finer artistic control over how models generate and transform sound.

Previously, as a research assistant, I had the privilege of working under the guidance of Prof. Qiuqiang Kong on Music Generation and Prof. Yujun Yan on Graph Mining and Machine Learning Theory.

Before joining UC San Diego, I earned a B.S. in Statistics from Sun Yat-sen University and worked as an AI intern at Tencent Music Entertainment Group.

Outside research, I enjoy playing music, singing, and performing live. I trained as a pop vocalist for about two years and contributed to the production of the theme song for the animated film GG Bond: Interstellar Action, featuring one of my favorite childhood characters.
